Walter
Last weekend we made a short clip for a contest. It was a 54-hour challenge where we had to make a short film with the following characteristics.
title: walter
prop: key
genre: action/adventure
Take a look :D
The initial plans were more ambitious as we were trying to show how Walter ended up transferred in a game while he was walking home. The first scene was supposed to be Walter walking and receiving a strange call on his cell phone. There was supposed to be a dialog along the following lines:
- [Funny cell ringtone]
- Hello?
- [Typical female voice that appears in voice messages] This is an automated voice message for [pause] Walter [with slightly different tone]. If you are not [pause] Walter [same as before] please hung up now, otherwise say yes or press 1 to continue.
- [Sound of pressing key 1 on the cell phone]
- [Same female voice] Hi Walter, you have been selected among 4000 possible targets to have your life ruined. We have kidnapped all your friends and family — except your grandma. They will all suffer a painful death unless you accept to play a game with me.
- WTF? Who is this? Is this some kind of joke? WTF!
- [Same female voice] I didn’t get that. If you want to accept the challenge please say yes or press 1 now.
- [Sound of pressing key 1 on the cell phone]
In retrospect, I am happy that we didn’t end up doing the first scene.
Finally, funniest line we recorded for the voice over but we didn’t actually use: “The land of the living dead”.
